This is my 31st year of teaching. I taught grades 6-9 math for one year, did a year of substitute teaching right after getting married, taught fifth grade for 21 years, taught kindergarten for one year, and have been in first grade ever since! I love seeing how much first graders learn in one year! They grow both socially and intellectually so much in one year's time! I am married to Jeff and we just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary! We have 3 children. Our oldest, Laney, is now 25, and working a full time job with SDS in Effingham, where she is a computer programmer. She was valedictorian of her class and we are quite proud of her. Our son, Joel, is 20, and just graduated from Lake Land Community College where he had the highest GPA in Ag Power Technology. He's working full time for Buening Implement as a mechanic and is also busy helping his dad on the farm. Shyann, our youngest, is active in 4H. Shyann just graduated from high school this spring and will be going to Lake Land Community College, majoring in early childhood care and education. She has dyslexia, which is a reading disorder, and has made great progress in her reading with a lot of interventions. So you see, I've dealt with all kinds of students even in my own home! I love to swim, hence the pool picture at the top of the page! I also am quite active in our church, Trinity Lutheran Church of Stewardson. I enjoy singing and sing soprano in our church choir. I attend monthly meetings of our Women of Trinity group. That is pretty much the splashdown on Mrs. Schultz!
